I can not say the identification. It is not the album form of Paph. hiepii. Although the width of leaf is wide, it may be Paph. walterianum, hainanense. We have do identify after we see the plant and flower exactly.

I have received the new information and pictures about the newly discovered Paphiopedilum as follows on the 16th, June, 1998 from Ha Noi. It might be strange like this, they find out the new species so often. In this time, these 2 species might be not new. But it might be the new or the new variety. So I'll introduce the both of them with some comments. |

Paph. concolor ( This species is Paph. vietnamense, a new species ) (New Species)This plant must be Paph. concolor. They have many varieties of Paph. concolor. Especially, Viet Nam is so long from south to north. It means they have several varieties of Paph. concolor. This variety is located near the border to China. The plant is very huge and leaf is round. I hope the flower similar to Paph. concolor or conco-bellatulum in China. But in the similar case, I saw the real common flower on the huge plants with big round leaf. Perhaps some of you have the same experience. |
