| This flower is the smallest in Paphiopedilum. The shape of flower and plant is very similar to Paph. burbigerum but the color on dorsal sepal is yellow. In manuscript on this species, they say the size of leaf is very small, but the leaves that I saw in the same size of Paph. burbigerum. The difference is the leaf of Paph. helenae is thicker and darker than that of Paph. burbigerum. I saw some hundreds of them in the gardener's in Ha Noi. On Oct., I saw a lot of flowers on the plants. The color of dorsal sepal and petal is brownish yellow in usual. Some rare plants had bright yellow flower. But it is not flabum or album form. |

| The normal plants of Paph. helenae have flowers whose color is brownish purple red in darker yellow base. It is very easy to identify from the color of their stem color. |

This clone is very nice and has selected specially in JAVECO, I hard. We want the seedlings of self closs of this clone, don't you ? |

The album clone of Paph. helenae has the flower of pure yellow color only. I named it , Paph. helenae v. sanderae. It is not album. They are very rare clones and it is very easy to identify from the color of the flower stem whose color is green and hair is white. JAVECO find out this clone and made self close immediately. |

The near the border to China where Paph. helenae grows in these mountains. The mountains are far in the distance to China. In truth, it is very difficult to enter the mountains from this area, I hard. |

| The big lime mountains like this make a large barrier to go up-country. The height is about 400~500 m. Paph. helenae grow on the shelf with their root spread in moss. | The investigation by JAVECO to find out orchids in this area. I asked them to look for Paphs especially. In truth, I want to go with them but I have no confidence to keep myself for climbing these mountains. |

I can not identify this Paph. The appearances is similar to Paph. helenae but the color and thickness of their leaf is different from Paph. helenae. Of course, it is not Paph. burbigerum. This plants grow in the same area of Paph. helenae. We have to wait the flower coming. I asked them to send photo of the flower when it's coming. |

In Viet Nam, Paph. helenae is very popular now among the concerned. The photo of Paph. helenae was used on the cover page of some magazine concerned hobby. But almost of all writings inside were traditional dancing and Bonsai. There are not so many hobbyists of growing orchids in Ha Noi. |
