訂正事項

Paph. Boltonii is a synonym of Paph. Muriel Hollington.

Paph. Boltonii をPaph. Muriel Hollingtonのシノニムとする。
Josep M. Puig Vwerdura has kindly drawn the registrarﾕs attention to a study by Kohji Karasawa (1981), A review of chromosome numbers in some hybrids of Paphiopedilum, Bull. Hiroshima Bot. Gard. 4: 1-8, which concluded that the parentage of Paph. Boltonii, listed in the register as of unknown parentage, was Paph. insigne x Paph. niveum. By coincidence, other records of this grex came to light in Gard. Chron. 46: 364, 407 (1909); Gard. Mag. 1909: 947; Journ. of Hort. 59: 529, f. (1909); and Kew Bull. 1909(App. 3): 65, which noted, 'A garden hybrid probably between Paph. insigne 'Sanderae' and Paph. niveum. The flowers are wax-like and of the purest white, with a few minute dark spots on the lower part of the dorsal sepal.' As a result, Paph. Boltonii (1909) is now treated as a synonym of Paph. Muriel Hollington (1891). However, parentage of the greges registered with Paph. Boltonii as a parent have not been changed.

Paphiopedilum Goliathの出自について
Paphiopedilum Goliath を交配親不明の交配種としていたが、Paph. insigne 'Harefield Hall' x Paph. Troilus 'Amy Moore'とする。
大阪パフィオギルドの神原会長と別所さんが私に持ち込まれたPaph.Goliath出自についての疑問の件、ギルドの総会とサロンでお話ししましたように、問題は世界中を駆けめぐり、以下のように決着され公式に発表されました。この解決は世界中の多くの方々のご協力によるもので、関係者の皆様、とりわけ問題を提示下さった神原、別所両氏には感謝を申し上げます。
Paphiopedilum Goliath has for some time been recorded as of unknown parentage in the Register. However, as Josep M. Puig Vwerdura recently pointed out to the registrar, the Hermans index of RHS Orchid Awards 1841-2002 CD-ROM states that Paph. Goliath received an AM/RHS on 2 Dec 1913 with the recorded parentage, Paph. insigne 'Harefield Hall' x Paph. Amy Moore, see OR.22: 24. Further research has revealed that the epithet Amy Moore appears in the literature both as a grex and also as a cultivar of Paph. Troilus. Therefore the register entry for Paph. Goliath has been changed to show the parentage Paph. insigne 'Harefield Hall' x Paph. Troilus 'Amy Moore', in agreement with OR. 28: 22 (1920). Furthermore, the register contains the note, ﾔVery distinct from Paph. Dreadnought which has the same parentageﾕ. Because of this comment, the parentage of the greges listed with Paph. Goliath as a parent has not been changed.

Paphiopedilum Ruby Slippers の交配親記録の誤りを訂正

花粉親Paph. Sandra Lee をPaph.Virgo に変更
Paphiopedilum Ruby Slippers was registered with the incorrect parentage by error. Please change the pollen parent to read Paph. Virgo instead of Sandra Lee gx, see Orch. Rev. Suppl. 110(1246): 59 (July 2002).

Establishment of Groups（グレックスの下にグループを確立)

通常の交配名の下位にグループというランクを設立した。これは同じ種名を用いた交配でも、その変種を用いた場合、異なった交配名を記録することができる。この場合、通常用いるgrexの下位に位置づけて表示する。例えば　A x B = C で　Cは交配名Greｘとなる。しかし、Ｃの変種C'を交配に用いた場合、A x C' = D と記録することができる。　このとき、正式な表示として　Paph. C gx D gp　と表示する。

Since the early days of orchid hybridisation the problem of how to name several hybrids that are between the same species but involve different infra specific parents, that are considered significant, has been a source of difficulty. See for example the note above under Vanda Groveﾕs Dream and V. Peregrino Lorenzo for a recent example.
One possibility, here used as a working hypothesis, is the establishment of Groups based on description, within a grex based on parentage, an idea which has met with acceptance from ICNCP commissioners. Descriptions vary in detail style and quality as they are provided by the originators.

1)Paph. Calloso-barbatum gx Norman Atkinson Gp derived from Paph. barbatum var. nigritum ﾔDyak Warriorﾕ x Paph. callosum var. viniferum ﾔJacﾕ. Raised by Agnes Atkinson, made 12 Dec 1998, f. fl. 16 Nov 2004. Description: ﾔDorsal sepal green, red and white. Petals red and green; pouch red; staminode light red.ﾕ

2)Paph. Nori's Bell gx Aoinokimi Gp derived from Paph. bellatulum x Paph. Norito Hasegawa. Raised by Toshinori Tanaka, made 10 Apr 1998, f. fl. 20 Dec 2004. Description: ﾔNatural spread of flower 11 cm, petal width 4.6 cm. Petals and sepals slightly pointed at top. Dorsal sepal, ventral sepal, petals and pouch are yellowish creamy green. The dorsal sepal is slightly darker in colour. Purple brown spots irregularly cover the petals and sepals, more densely towards the centre and more scattered towards the periphery. Spots are absent from the pouch interior, the interior is heavily spotted with tiny purple brown dots. The staminode is white with dark purple red on the lower half.
The original Nori's Bell grex was derived from Paph. bellatulum 'Album' x Paph. Norito Hasegawa.

先に登録されたNori's Bellは交配親のbellatulumにalbumが用いられたが、私の登録したAoinokimi(葵君)には普通種のbellatulumが用いられた。

3)Paph. Uri Baruk gx Akitsuhime Gp derived from Paph. Norito Hasegawa x Paph . godefroyae 'Ang-Thong'. Raised by Toshinori Tanaka, made 15 Apr 1999, f. fl. 21 Nov 2004. Description: 'Flower, natural spread 9.5 cm, petal width 5 cm. Dorsal sepal is pointed a little bit at he top, pale creamy green, a little darker than other tepals. Ventral sepal, petals and pouch pale creamy green, petals rounded at the top. Sepals with very tiny purple-brown spots all over, becoming more dense towards the centre. Pouch without spots on exterior, with tiny purple brown spots increasing heavily towards the base and inside. Staminode white with lower half dark purple red.

先に登録されたPaph. Uri Baruk はNorito Hasegawa の交配相手にPaph . godefroyae が用いられたが、私が登録したPaph. Akitsuhime (秋津姫)には ang-thomg（Paph . godefroyae var. ang-thong ）が用いられた。ここで、ang-thongが正式に交配親として認められたことに注目して欲しい。
